FZ ATHLETE CIRCLE, 1:1 PERFORMANCE COACHING

 Performance Coaching, Built

For Mountain Athletes

Built on the Mountain Capacity Method, our system for integrating

strength and endurance instead of making you choose

You're Already Athletic. You Just Don't Have A System Built For This

You've probably been an athlete your whole life. Maybe you played sports through high school or college. Maybe you're already strong, or you already have real endurance, or both. What you probably haven't had is a system built specifically for mountain performance. Monday you're lifting like a bodybuilder.

Wednesday you're running like your only goal is aerobic base. Saturday you're four hours into the backcountry finding out neither one fully prepared you for the other. You've got the work ethic. You've got the athletic background. Nobody's ever built you a plan that connects it, especially not for the big goal you're actually training toward.

Why most programs fail:

  • They make you choose between strength and endurance instead of building both together

  • They build fitness, not mountain capacity

  • They ignore your actual week: travel, work, weather, kids, adventure

Result : you do a little of everything, not enough of anything, and feel guilty about all of it

The Mountain Capacity Method

Triphasic Strength Cycles

Eccentric, then isometric, then concentric. You learn to control the full range of motion under load, not just move through it. That control is what protects your knees on a steep descent.

Energy System Integration

Aerobic and anaerobic conditioning layered on purpose, not bolted onto your strength days as an afterthought.

Terrain-Specific Durability

Movement patterns and loading tied directly to the terrain you actually train for, steep, uneven, high-output, multi-day.

Strategic Undulation

Your training flexes with your season, your travel, your energy, on purpose. Adjust, don't abandon.

Real Athletes, Real Chaos

One athlete travels constantly for work and chases big mountain objectives on top of it. She's hit 95% of her training for the past year. "You and FlowZone are the only constant in my life right now."

One athlete told his coach he didn't think he had time for this. He spends multiple days at a stretch in the backcountry for work. He hasn't missed a single session since he started.

One athlete wasn't sure she could even call herself an athlete. Six weeks in, she finished a race and finally felt like one

FAQ

I don't have time for this ?

One athlete trains from the backcountry on multi-day work trips and hasn't missed a session. Your coach builds around your real schedule, not a fantasy version of it.

I've tried programs before and quit ?

One of our 50K athletes came to us with hip pain that had stopped her running. We rebuilt her plan around it and she finished pain-free.

Will this work for my sport or my injury history?

Every athlete starts with a strategy call before anything else, so we can talk through your sport, your history, and your goals and make sure it's the right fit. From there, your coach builds your plan around exactly what you're working with.

What if I'm not sure I'm a real athlete?

That feeling is common in week one. It doesn't last.

What happens after I apply?

A short application, then a strategy call, so we can confirm fit before anything else.

Applications are open now. Join before August 6 and get 7 months for the price of 6.

MAMatt Arsenault
Unstructured trainingStrongest he's ever been

Matt already loved mountain sports — he wanted a system, not motivation. While working full-time and studying for the bar exam, personalized programming and weekly coaching made him stronger, faster, and more confident on every objective.

Strength PRs nearly every week 5K PR in tougher conditions Consistent routine around a full-time job + bar prep More durability for long mountain days

"At first I thought, 'That's a lot of money.' After week one, I thought it was the best money I've invested in myself."

SSally
Cortisone just to racePower of Four, pain-free

Knee pain had become part of every race, with cortisone injections just to get through — and limping across the line anyway. Personalized strength training alongside her running rebuilt the durability she'd been missing, and she finished the Power of Four feeling strong.

Zero knee pain during her goal race No cortisone injections needed Finished strong instead of limping A sustainable strength routine to keep

"When I crossed everyone was asking if I was okay. I was like, 'Yeah, I feel great. I want to go get a hot dog.'"

AMAbby Motter
Recurring injuriesFirst 50K, finished

Six weeks out from her first trail 50K, Abby was piecing plans together from the internet and cycling through injuries — ankle, knee, hip flexor, IT band. We shifted the focus from surviving race day to building a durable athlete: better tendon strength, real resilience, restored confidence.

Finished her first-ever trail 50K Overcame ankle, knee, hip flexor & IT band issues Greater tendon strength & durability Back to long mountain adventures

"I feel strong. I feel durable. I feel capable. These nagging injuries aren't coming up anymore."

EKErin Konzelman
Inconsistent trainingRacing with confidence

A busy firefighter, Erin pieced training around her shifts and never felt like she had a real plan. With personalized programming, accountability, and a focus on race mindset, she rediscovered her competitive side and learned to race by effort instead of perfection.

First trail marathon, stronger than expected Consistency through structured training Learned to race by effort, not perfection A system that fits a firefighter's schedule

"Having someone just tell me what to do has been the game changer for me. It's a night and day difference having a coach."
